We literally step onto a real boxing ring, stepping into the mat.

In this room, you’ll find items that represent the complete story of the most iconic boxer in cinema history.
We begin with Apollo Creed’s shorts, Rocky’s mentor. The actor Carl Weathers brought him to life… and gave him style.

You’ll also see boxing gloves signed by Sylvester Stallone (Rocky) and by his great rival: Ivan Drago, the Soviet colossus played by Dolph Lundgren.

Plus, you’ll find Rocky’s shorts and Drago’s shorts, displayed to show the evolution of the saga.

Let’s get in the ring:

In Rocky I and II, Apollo trains Rocky, helping him regain his fighting spirit.

Then, in Rocky IV, Apollo fights Ivan Drago… and dies in the ring.

Rocky decides to avenge him — but not just with his fists: he does it by paying tribute, wearing shorts with the American flag.

For years, many of us thought they were the same pair of shorts… until we had both of them in hand.
They’re not.

Apollo’s are longer, pure 70s style.
Rocky’s are shorter, totally 80s.

In fact, many of you might remember that back in the 80s, those short summer gym shorts we used to wear were called… “rockies.”
