ROOM 6 - TERROR
To present the horror pieces… we had to do something special.
For two good reasons: first, these items just don’t feel the same out of context. And second, let’s be honest — for many people, these masks are just too intense.
That’s why this room is a black box — darker, with ambient lighting and background music. Because these pieces lose their effect under bright lights.
Just as in other rooms we step into a real boxing ring (like in the Rocky room), or walk across desert rugs for Indiana Jones, here we had to create the right setting.
Don’t worry: there are no jump scares. But to see everything properly, you’ll need to turn on your mobile flashlight.
Let’s begin… The first piece you’ll find is a true classic: Freddy Krueger’s glove.
On the back of the glove, you’ll see the signature of Robert Englund, the actor who played him. But we didn’t stop there. On each finger blade, you’ll find signatures from the main cast of the first movie: three girls and one boy.
Many people ask if the boy is Johnny Depp — and yes, he does appear in the first film — but no, it’s not him. He dies so quickly that you barely see him. This signature belongs to one of the other victims.
Now, with your lights on, move to the next display case where you’ll find other iconic horror masks: Halloween and Friday the 13th.
The Halloween mask is signed by several actors who played Michael Myers, including the original and those from the remakes — and also by John Carpenter himself, director of the original film.
But here’s the fun fact: Did you know this mask wasn’t designed for the movie?
Carpenter went into a costume shop, looked around, and chose a mask of Captain Kirk from Star Trek.
Yes, what you’re seeing is William Shatner’s face, painted white and with the hair slicked back. When Shatner found out, he said: “Seriously? My face is considered scary?”
And that’s how a horror icon was born.
Lastly, we have the hockey mask from Friday the 13th, worn by Jason Voorhees.
This is a very special piece: it’s a limited edition, with only 100 masks in the world — signed by every actor who played Jason throughout the saga.
Why so many actors? Because in this story, the killer isn’t a person — it’s the mask itself.
Whoever puts it on, becomes the killer.
Each actor signed with their version: “Jason 1”, “Jason 5”, “Jason 9”…
This particular mask is from the sixth movie, when the iconic design was already established.
